Bristol composer Richard Barnard is embarking on a new project – a new set of Early Stroll Songs, to be entitled “Early Stroll Songs: Lockdown Edition”.
The songs, like the original set (which were premiered by Bristol Song Recital Series Curator Martin Le Poidevin, along with guitarist Amanda Cook), are settings of Tweets made by poet Ian McMillan (@IMcMillan) after he goes on his early morning exercise walk.
Richard is now writing a new set, with the aim of writing, distributing and performing them during the current lockdown situation.
Martin Le Poidevin will again be involved: we’ll let you know how it all goes, and we’ll put some of them on our home page.
4th March: Jenna Brown and Amelia Goodall combine for a fantastic recital of music for voice and violin. Including music by Vaughan Williams and Holst.
11th March: Music by Quilter, Bellini and Faure from Recital Series favourite Charlotte
18th March: Bass-baritone Martin sings Vaughan Williams' Songs of Travel, Butterworth's A Shropshire Lad and more!
